Construction on the first phase of the project to upgrade the main water pipeline is projected to begin on
Monday, Dec 1st, 2014.
Excavation will start at Nutmeg and Lake Drive and proceed South.
One lane of Lake drive will be closed and traffic directed around the excavation area.
Pre-construction activities, fencing, etc. will begin this week. Pipeline construction and testing is estimated to be completed by Christmas, with paving completed in mid-January. A one or two day water shutdown may be required at the end of excavation to connect the new pipeline: water users will be notified 24 hours in advance.
This project is the first phase of the Lake Hodges Del Dios Mutual Water Company's multiyear plan to upgrade the main pipeline to new ten-inch pipe, improving capacity and water pressure, and providing new fire hydrants along Lake Drive. PK Construction has been contracted to perform the work.
